History of the vehicles:

1975 Ferrari 312T, Chassis 022

This is THE car that Niki Lauda, one of the two highlighted drivers for the newly release movie “Rush”, won the 1975 World Championship for Ferrari.

By 1975, the 312T Ferrari was the car to beat. It featured a transverse-mounted gearbox that was positioned ahead of the rear axle for vastly improved handling. In all, Ferrari 312T cars went on to win 27 races, four Constructors’ Championships, and three Drivers’ Championships over their history.

Chassis 022 is currently undergoing a full concours restoration at Griot’s Garage facility in Tacoma, Washington, not far from the Tacoma Mall.

1977 McLaren M23, Chassis 012

Griot-Laudi

Debuting in 1973, the M23 displayed incredible longevity, racing competitively for 5 ½ years. This is the same model raced by James Hunt in his epic battle with Niki Lauda for the 1976 Drivers’ Championship (backdrop for the movie “Rush”).

Chassis 012 was piloted exclusively by Jochen Mass in 1977. It is currently on display at Griot’s Garage in Tacoma except while exhibited during the Seattle Auto Show.
